Confirm where the notice came from

Retellings of security notices can lose important limits. Find the publisher’s confirmed announcement channel, keep the original URL and update time, and distinguish an official notice from a researcher’s report or an unverified repost.

Turn the claim into checkable points

Record the affected product and version, operating environment, required actions, potentially exposed data and the response described by the publisher. A risk in one environment does not automatically affect every product or wallet.

An upgrade does not establish that every risk is gone

An upgrade record shows a version changed. Earlier credential exposure, unexpected signatures or account-permission changes require separate evidence. Verify the source of urgent download links rather than letting urgency replace the check.

Sources and reading notes

This article is an editorial explanation of risks and ways to verify information. It does not make a factual finding about a particular wallet or person. Product behavior and rules may change; check the original documentation.
